Fundraising

Fundraising is an important element of our Providence Nursery School cooperative.  The money raised supports extra programs like music class, replaces worn toys and equipment, and helps teachers to purchase supplies. 

You can help our fundraising efforts by attending events, and also by volunteering your time.  Special events are a great opportunity to meet and hang out with other families in our PNS community.  Most of us have chosen PNS because it is a co-op, and fundraising events are another chance to participate and help in the educational mission of our school.

T-Shirt Sales

Support PNS by purchasing a T-shirt or another item with the PNS logo. Some items are already available and others will be offered during the school year. Purchase PNS clothing to show your school spirit! Take home one today to have for summer camp and other PNS summer events!

Constructive Playthings

Get a head start on your holiday purchases or stock up on birthday gifts for the whole year. You will receive a Constructive Playthings catalog in the Fall and order forms are usually due in late October. PNS receives a portion of the proceeds for every purchase.

Barnes and Noble Day

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 20th, 2010! Barnes and Noble will host Providence Nursery School for our first major fundraising event of the school year! We'll have story-times, arts and crafts, and lots of other fun activities for the little ones. We will receive a portion of the sales for items purchased using our special code. This year the shopping days include days before and after the event itself and also online purchases!

Holiday Shop

Time to shop on Saturday, December 4th, 2010! This event, a joint venture with the PNS Social Committee, is more about family fun than fundraising. Little ones will have a chance to select holiday gifts for loved ones in the Holiday Shop and then enjoy treats and activities as well. There may even be a visit from Santa himself if he is not too busy at the North Pole. (smile)

Rocknoceros, Raffle and Potluck Dinner

The second of our major fundraising events is proposed for March 2011. Northern Virginia's premier kiddie rock band will once again perform following a raffle full of fun prizes. Before the show, enjoy a PNS potluck dinner, courtesy of the Social Committee in another joint venture!

Additional Possible Events (Dates and details TBA):

• Playdate - Bring your little one to PNS for a little extra fun. We will plan a themed Saturday morning playdate in the Big Room with creative activities for the kiddies.
• Posh Pouches - Discover a new way to send snacks and lunches to school!
• Possible Restaurant Nights - Simply show up for a meal and a portion of the proceeds will go to PNS!

We hope you will enjoy our upcoming events and volunteer to support our school. But most of all, we want you to help us keep the "fun" in fundraising!
